🔑 What Are Conditional Statements?

Conditional statements allow a program to make decisions based on certain conditions. They check whether something is True or False and execute code accordingly.

Example:

age = 18
if age >= 18:
print(“You are eligible to vote.”)

🧩 The if Statement

• The simplest conditional statement.
• Executes a block of code if the condition is True.

x = 10
if x > 5:
print(“x is greater than 5”)

🧩 The if-else Statement

• Provides an alternative block of code if the condition is False.x = 3
  if x > 5:
  print(“x is greater than 5”)
  else:
  print(“x is not greater than 5”)
• x = 3

• 🧩 The if-elif-else Statement

  • Used when you have multiple conditions to check.
• marks = 85
  if marks >= 90:
  print(“Grade: A”)
  elif marks >= 75:
  print(“Grade: B”)
  elif marks >= 50:
  print(“Grade: C”)
  else:
  print(“Grade: F”)

  • You can put one if inside another.
  • num = 10
