Step 1: Open Your Code Editor

• Launch Visual Studio Code (VS Code), IDLE, or any text editor you installed earlier.
• Create a new file and save it as hello.py.
  

  The .py extension tells your computer this is a Python file.

Step 2: Write Your First Line of Code

Type the following into your file:

print("Hello, World!")

• The print() function displays text or values on the screen.
• "Hello, World!" is a string of text inside quotation marks.

Step 3: Run Your Program

• Windows/macOS/Linux:
  Open your terminal or command prompt, navigate to the folder where you saved hello.py, and type:

  python hello.py
  

• You should see the output:

  Hello, World!
  

Step 4: Experiment

Try changing the text inside the quotes, for example:

print("Welcome to Python Programming!")

Run the program again and see the new output.

Step 5: Understanding What Happened

• You wrote a Python statement using the print() function.
• Python interpreted your code line by line and displayed the result.
• This is the foundation of programming: writing instructions that the computer executes.
